Acer Cancels Alibaba-Powered Smartphone Launch

Acer was ostensible to launch a chronicle of the CloudMobile smartphone that runs on Aliyun OS, an Android-based working network created by Chinese e-commerce definite Alibaba Group. However, the two organizations have voiced that the launch of their Acer CloudMobile A800 (pictured) was canceled.

Journalists in Shanghai who were ostensible to casing the eventuality Thursday were not authorised to come in the venue and an authorized from Alibaba's auxiliary Alibaba Cloud Computing mentioned the launch had been canceled since "internal reasons."

Alibaba, that already expelled its own Aliyun-powered smartphone final year, expelled a matter after that on that Taiwan-based wiring company Acer gave in to pressure from Google Inc and pulled out of the launch event.

"Our associate received presentation from Google that if the new product launch with Aliyun went ahead, Google would cancel Android product team-work and connected technical authorisation with Acer," the matter read.

Both spokespersons from Acer and Google declined to comment.
