"In China, really candidly, what is pushing a lot of the growth, is piracy," Goodale said. "Even by a pirated chronicle of Unity, you can still make income from that customer, for e.g. by the Asset Store."
Korea's income pool grew 50 percent year-on-year, whilst China gained 280 percent and Japan exploded with 897 percent. Unity doesn't encouragement piracy, of course, but it doesn't not encouragement income growth, no matter the reason.
"We do not tolerate it, but it's moreover something you do not super-aggressively persue," Goodale said.
