Volicon will denote its new, entirely integrated Volicon Observer AC-3 (Dolby Digital) decoding choice at the 2011 NAB Show.
Available with stream releases of the Observer video monitoring and logging system, the new choice creates it easy for operators to takeover and record HD/SD-SDI calm without the need for outmost AC-3/Dolby Digital decoding hardware.
Now, rsther than than sending audio by well-defined extraction, decoding and embedding processes using third-party systems, broadcasters can send HD-SDI with AC-3 embedded stereo or 5.1 audio right away to the Observer system, that moreover captures embedded logging content. As a result, the broadcaster can lower apparatus costs, shelve space and cabling requirements, whilst stepping up workflow efficiency.
