Pro Evolution Soccer 2011 3D Review: Soccer Punch

Pro Evolution Soccer 2011 3D comes close, and for some, that might only be great enough.

That's not to say the 3D visuals aren't pretty. The updated height creates fleeting feel more expect and satisfying, supposing you can see who you're fleeting to. Had the camera been pulled back over from the player, this might have been ideal. Going with the "wide" point of view provides FIFA and Pro Evo fans with what they're used to, putting more of the margin in view for improved passing.

Notice we mentioned "better" passing. Not great. Even with the glorious round desk pad on the 3DS, players pierce in 8 directions instead of the full 360 degrees of transformation the desk pad could provide. For dedicated soccer fans, this is a step back by a couple of years. Everything from running to aiming your passes and shots feels more similar to a silver flip. There were far as well many cases where my passes went to well-covered players we didn't wish to pass to in the initial place.
