Facebook is to pay $10m (6m) to gift to solve a legal case over the way it used "social" ads.
Known as a "sponsored story", the ads popped up on a user's friends' pages after the user clicked to "like" a firm's advert.
The legal case was brought by 5 members of Facebook who mentioned the ads disregarded Facebook members' rights to manage the use of their wake up on the site.
Facebook has declined to criticism on the legal case and settlement.
The attend to users who sued was reached in May, but justice papers were done open this weekend.
The Facebook users filed their legal case in December 2011 in a sovereign justice in San Jose, California, claiming that the amicable network had disregarded the state law by creation their "likes" well known to others without permitting them to opt out or profitable them.
According to Reuters headlines agency, Facebook owner Mark Zuckerberg is quoted in the legal case as adage that such buddy support is the "Holy Grail" of advertising.
But the panel of judges ruled in foster of the plaintiffs.
"California has long recognized a correct to safeguard one's name and correspondence against allowance by others for their advantage," Judge Lucy Koh wrote, reported Reuters.
The amicable network mentioned the agreement supports would go to charity.
It is only other justice case involving the amicable networking giant, that listed on the Nasdaq batch swap in May.
One of the many new cases involves Mr Zuckerberg and the banks heading the firm's levity being sued by shareholders who lay that the site's revised expansion total were not disclosed to all investors.
In a not similar case, Yahoo has filed an egghead skill legal case against Facebook, claiming the amicable network has infringed 10 of its patents, inclusive systems and methods for promotion on the web.
Facebook denies the allegations.
