A expertise associate from an hospital in Taiwan has created a technology that enables a person to clear a doorway with a elementary palm gesture. Tsai Yao-Pin of Technology and Science Institute of Northern Taiwan introduces the "invisible key," that uses a special chip-and-accelerometer combo integrated in to the lock.
The fragment is able to follow users' palm movements in 3 dimensions, and these gestures may be saved for future use. Users can simply spark these saved palm motions in front of the close to disconnect it. With the "invisible key" concept, Tsai and his college won the Gold Award at the Taipei International Invention Show final weekend.
The innovation does sound innovative on paper, but similar to earthy keys, palm movements may be duplicated.
