As of next week, users will be warned if they are about to be taken to a rouge website.

The amicable network has suffered to date as many of its 700 million users unwittingly click on dangerous links presumably posted by their friends.

Such attacks often pretence users in to pity passwords or data.

Facebook already tells users if they are about to revisit an outmost site, but the stream set up creates no eminence between kind and dangerous sites.

The new technology will present a bell shade when it suspects a page poses a hazard to the users, giving sum of the risk.

From here, users are speedy to lapse to the formerly page.

If they wish, users can go on to the expected page, despite really ample at their own risk.

Both Facebook and Websense will hope the additional measures will be sufficient to deter future scammers from focusing their efforts on the network.

Scams continually grasp out hundreds of thousands of users at a time.

"There's over 700 million users on Facebook," Websense's Spencer Parker told the BBC.

"As a square of actual estate, it's exceedingly essential to be targeted by malware writers."

The insurance will be powered by Websense's "Threatseeker Cloud", a network that stores a database of well known rouge URLs.

The network can moreover discover different dangerous URLs by assessing threats in real-time.

This means toxic URLs may be shut off even before they are well known to the company - slicing off a key tactic used by phishers in that all the time varying URLs dope database-driven protection.

In addition, the network will "follow" links done using renouned URL shorteners - such as bit.ly and ow.ly - to authorize their safety.

Due to the inlet of how you correlate with our friends, Mr Parker says phishing attacks on Facebook are ample harder to stop than other ordinarily used techniques.

"One of the things with Facebook, of course, is that you have that component of certitude in a amicable network. If a of your friends posts something, you automatically certitude it more than if it only received as a spam email.

"As more of these 'friend in the middle' attacks happen, you beginning to certitude your friends less."
