Teenager Hold Over Website Hacks

A young person has been arrested in the UK in a joint Scotland Yard and FBI investigate in to the hacking of websites.

The man, declared locally as Ryan Cleary, 19, was arrested in Wickford, Essex. Police have not identified him.

Scotland Yard mentioned the raid followed a array of distributed rejection of service attacks.

It comes days after hackers from a organisation called Lulz Security (LulzSec) pounded a number of websites both in Britain and the United States.

Scotland Yard would not say if Tuesday's raid was related to LulzSec but mentioned it had been a "pre-planned, intelligence-led" operation.

However, BBC safety match Frank Gardner mentioned the Metropolitan Police's e-crimes section had fixed the raid was linked to the new penetration attacks on the websites of the CIA and Britain's Serious Organised Crime Agency (Soca).

It says the teenager's P.C. was being carefully thought about for information linked to Sony, that not long ago came beneath cyber attack.

Mr Cleary was arrested beneath the Computer Misuse Act and Fraud Act and is being questioned at a middle London military station.

Earlier a Scotland Yard orator said: "The detain follows an scrutiny in to network intrusions and distributed rejection of service attacks against a number of general business and comprehension agencies by what is believed to be the same hacking group.

Mr Cleary's mom spoke to BBC Essex and fixed her son had been arrested at 0330 BST on Tuesday.

She mentioned he had been spooky with computers given he was 12 and added: "Computers were his world."

An FBI orator mentioned it had no criticism "at this time".

When Lulz Security, or LulzSec, initial appeared in May, the organisation portrayed itself as a jaunty organisation, collapsed on developing online fun and Lulz (laughs).

But LulzSec is mentioned to have been formulation to settle itself as a opponent to Anonymous, the hacking organisation inextricable in the WikiLeaks fallout.
