Sky To Shut Song Download Site

BSkyB has voiced skeleton to shut down its song download service, Sky Songs, due to a insufficient of urge from customers.

The website authorised subscribers to river song for a monthly price (4.99) and purchase albums and singles to download, but in a statement, a Sky orator mentioned the project "wasn't working out".

"We only didn't see the consumer urge we'd hoped for," he continued.

The site will sojourn open until February 2011, but subscribers will not be charged any more monthly fees.

The urge for song download and streaming sites is high, with companies similar to iTunes and Spotify attracting outrageous figures of users.

It's considered Sky Songs managed to capture fewer than 10,000 subscribers notwithstanding signing deals with all the leading record labels.

A e-mail to customers Sky mentioned it would automatically call off any subscriptions, even though the library of marks on the site might change as the shutdown approaches.

"Please be reassured that any marks you have formerly downloaded using the service sojourn yours to keep and are not affected by the service's closure.
