Sony has voiced that will no longer go on producing MiniDisc Walkmans. This comes after the firm moreover ceased prolongation to cassette Walkmans late final year. According to Japanese business every day The Nikkei, Sony skeleton on interlude the operations as early as September this year. The reason is obvious: Nobody is shopping MiniDisc Walkmans anymore.
The initial MiniDisc Walkman, the Sony MZ1 (pictured), was introduced on Japan in 1992, 13 years after the initial cassette Walkman. MDs might still be renouned in Japan, but it never unequivocally gained a foothold wherever outward the country, moreso the Walkmans that fool around them.
