That lets you do things similar to solidify time to grip blocks in place that may be used as platforms, or run a couple of not similar versions of yourself around a map, Braid -style. The final room in the demo shows the player recording only a moment, relocating divided from that point, and then personification it back quickly, warping the player past a dangerous barrier.
It's chic stuff, even though clearly this is only a idea of a work in progress, and not actually a blurb diversion yet. Still, we've seen great games advance from modest beginnings before -- could this be other Portal in the making?
