Leo Apotheker has been transposed as arch senior manager of Hewlett-Packard by Meg Whitman, the one-time head of eBay.
Mr Apotheker was in the work reduction than a year, but had overseen a fall in the share cost and a fall in sales.
Ms Whitman, who once ran for commissioner of California, quiescent from eBay in 2008 and is attributed with office building it in to a universal force.
HP voiced the leaving after house discussion on Thursday, but there had been conjecture for days about his future.
In a statement, Ray Lane, who was declared senior manager chairman, said: "We are lucky to have someone of Meg Whitman's description and experience step up to lead HP.
"We are at a vicious short time and you need renewed care to successfully exercise the plan and take value of the marketplace opportunities ahead."
Ms Whitman mentioned in a statement: "I am celebrated and vehement to lead HP. I think HP counts - it counts to Silicon Valley, California, the nation and the world."
It would be the second time in two years Mr Apotheker has been forced out of a tip job. He stood down from German business program creator SAP final year, after reduction than a year as arch executive.
He took over HP after the leaving of one-time team leader Mark Hurd, who stop work after a passionate nuisance investigation.
The new arch transposed a third of the HP board, brought in Ms Whitman, voiced skeleton to sell the personal P.C. section - the world's largest - and paid for UK program creator Autonomy for 7.1bn ($11.7bn).
But his plan has unsuccessful to stir investors. HP's shares have depressed 45.4% this year, creation it a of the worst performers in the Dow Jones index of heading US companies.
