Japan Trade Ministry Investigating Reports Of Overheating PlayStation Vitas

PlayStation Vita has been infectious fire, but not in the way that Sony would have liked.

An authorized scrutiny is underway in Japan regarding a array of incidents in that a PlayStation Vita became dangerously prohibited whilst recharging, the reported on Wednesday.

"We think the result in [of the burnouts] is that the line got soppy or had something stranded to it," Sony mentioned in a statement. "There is no defect."

Sony mentioned that it is wakeful of 31 overheating cases in the Vita's initial 6 months on the market. 23 of the cases took place in Japan, and 8 in the United States, Europe and Australia. Sony mentioned it does not outline to stop any PlayStation Vita hardware.

The scrutiny in to the Vita overheating incidents is being conducted by the National Institute of Technology and Evaluation , an eccentric group working on interest of Japan's Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry .

A list of overheating cases submitted to NITE has been present on Japanese summary boards. All of the cases, that occurred in not similar regions of Japan at not similar times, have the same description: "The unstable diversion appurtenance was recharging.
