I Am Printer

Some catchy headlines from K3, Malmo University, Sweden. Three of the students at the Master march in Interaction Design (Scott, Baris and Marcus), in conspiring with the Swedish producer Pr Thrn, combined the interactive art designation "I am the poet". A appurtenance and eventuality dedicated to accumulate chatter messages inclusive the difference "I am" and print them in an unending paper role. They used Arduino to penetrate an office printer and create the river of thoughts in actual time.

This plan was improved explained by the authors themselves:

"I am" printer is a tag printer that has been hacked to print a successive river of poem by modifying the ultimate chatter feeds that add the word "I am" [...] Continuous and automatic copy of the verses, sufficient similar to a ticker tape, emphasizes the automatic modifying of the poem. Text of the poem is all the time renewed using algorithms that manage the printer.

The work has been displayed in Galleri 21, Malm together with a projection from Marcus and the web focus we am developed by Scott. During the muster a few 80 verses have been generated, printed and after that handed out to visitors. Together with other works, the poem is a square of informative publication Pequod's 2011 April issue.

Besides the tyro work, Magnus Sjholm ha written an essay about the routine that originated this project. He interviewed Erling Bjrgvinsson, a post-doc at the Medea Research Studio, and highbrow at the referred to Masters' program.

Pr Thrn came up with a few ideas and the students began to rise them. They explored digital flows and wrote program and ethics that done queries for sentences starting with "I am". Google, the initial choice, incited out to be as well limiting. Twitter worked better, but if you create communication with the same speed as the world tweets "I am ...", it would turn entirely unreadable. A specific commission of tweets had to be skipped to slow the pace. In addition, we released all retweets, all links, and names.

If you wish to know more about this project, you should examine the subsequent to references:
