If you've got an Onkyo receiver from the xxx8 series, you'll be able to use your Apple device to manage many of what your receiver can do, and only about all of the typical day-to-day operations. If you're using areceiver from the xxx7 series, you'll obtain iPhone functionality, but will be more paltry in what you can do with it.
