If the iPad had existed back in 1972, and Doug Trumbull had used it in his overwhelming film Silent Running, its case would have looked only similar to the Don't Panic Case and Stand from Thomas Fulton. Its multiple of brightly-colored felt and shaped, multi-paneled tanned hide is true out of the retro sci-fi world.
Fulton's case is written to be used when you're relaxing, either to column it up on your path to watch a film or as a type of soothing a-frame to mount it on a desk. To watch a movie.
The externa; felt covering bends and flops in to any figure you like, and the tanned hide panels increase rigidity and control. The tanned hide tongue that binds the case closed contains a magnet, and when wrapped around in the other citation it supports the case in "keyboard entry" alignment or honest "movie orientation." In this way it's only similar to Apple's Smart Cover.
But there's moreover a shifting steel image in the front flap, that lets you slip and fine-tune the manifestation angle. Thus, it's a of the only cases I've seen that sits on your knees and grips them whilst you lay on a floor, bed or tatami.
The Don't Panic case is now soliciting appropriation on Kickstarter, where you'll must be representation $100 to obtain one. Nope, its not cheap. But then again, with its corner-grabbing straps the pattern is expected to final down the years by a few iPad iterations, however gaunt the inscription gets.
Don't Panic case [Kickstarter. thanks, Thomas]
