Sir Malcolm Campbell's grandson has vowed to lapse to the beach where his own son unsuccessful to wallop the UK home speed record for an electric car.
Joe Wales was perplexing to break the 137mph record hold by his parent Don when Bluebird Electric strike a pothole at Pendine Sands in Carmarthenshire.
The automobile was shop-worn but the 19-year-old motorist transient with gentle whiplash.
His parent Don said: "The critical thing is Joe is fine... we are unaware if we could have completed any better."
Joe Wales was aiming to turn the fourth era of his family to break a world speed record.
His great-grandfather Sir Malcolm Campbell and great-uncle Donald Campbell hold world speed archives on home and water, whilst great-great-grandfather Malcolm made his initial record endeavor on Pendine Sands in 1924.
Joe's parent Don Wales, 50, from Addlestone, Surrey, was moreover attempting to break his own record, set in 2000.
But his own record bid had to be aborted after the car's postponement was shop-worn during Joe's run.
Don Wales was able to fun about the situation saying: "He's broken his dad's automobile - how does any son cope with violation his dad's car?
"We're bitterly unhappy but the critical thing is that Joe is fine," he added.
"Visibility on the march in a low automobile is obviously truly bad - notwithstanding it being a unequivocally balmy day when you're in a low automobile for a few reason it becomes roughly unfit to see where you're going properly."
"This is Joe's initial go on Pendine and we regard in hindsight may be we should have vanished first.
"But the group motionless Joe should go initial to obtain his initial record.
"I'm fearful that with the vibrations on the sand and the bad visibility, he only mislaid his way.
"I'm not going to censure Joe in any way whatsoever. We must be pick up from it and obtain a few bigger markerposts, and if you have any doubts about running on the beach, not do it.
"I would similar to to advance back to Pendine - it's a wonderful place. But I've always mentioned it's a place you must be provide with respect."
