Google says it will put together a mobile phone bug that incorrectly sends content messages to the incorrect people.
The glitch, that has strike a tiny part of the company's Android mobile phones, initial emerged final year.
Those affected say a few of their texts have finished up in the hands of pointless recipients.
After questioning the issue, Google mentioned it had "developed a fix" and would be rolling it out soon.
It is scarcely a year given the complaint was initial reported, nonetheless the number of incidents appeared to enlarge final summer.
Initial examinations befuddled the complaint with another, identical bug - but the firm certified yesterday that a few users have seen their messages delivered to the incorrect recipient.
"It took us a few time to simulate this issue, as it appears that it's usually occurring really rarely," mentioned Nik Kralevich, an operative on the Android safety team.
"Even so, we've right away managed to both simulate it and rise a put together that you will deploy."
It is not clear, however, when users will obviously take the put together - or how it would happen.
Some mobile bugs need a total program refurbish - that would need plugging affected handsets in to a P.C. - whilst others may be prearranged remotely.
Although the firm was interested to highlight that usually a tiny fragment of users have reported problems, a few users say it has proven annoying and potentially costly.
"Today I sent a content asking about a stipulate from a future employer - and it went to my stream boss," wrote one user on Google's bug forum .
"If this hurts my career, I will be seeking in to authorised action."
Tracking down the bug has turn increasingly critical for Google given Android - its network to power smartphones - has grown massively in recognition over the past year.
It has rocketed from having a share of just 3% of the worldwide chic phone marketplace in 2009 to more than 25% today.
Most users affected referred to it is an inconvenient, rsther than than crippling, complaint - but the who have gifted the glitch say that it has been troubling.
"I are unaware where the SMS messages are going," Christina Bunce, a university programme personality from Falmouth, told the BBC.
"But I can see they have been sent and never arrived."
