Facebook Twice As Renouned As Porn

Social networking sites are more renouned with UK internet users than racy ones, according to new total from Experian Hitwise.

The internet investigate firm says that in January sites similar to Facebook accounted for 12.46% of all online traffic.

That's the homogeneous of 2.4 billion hits or a eighth of all web visits.

In more aged entertainment websites, inclusive racy ones, accounted for 12.18% of traffic.

It's the initial time amicable networking has overtaken entertainment in conditions of popularity.

Of those, amicable network site Facebook accounted for more than half, or 56%, of visits.

Robin Goad, Experian Hitwise's Research Director said: "While amicable networks of march vie amongst themselves for users, many of the users have a participation on multi-part networks.

"One in every 8 people leaving a amicable network visits other a right away after.

"Facebook, for example, is a key source of traffic for many not as big amicable networks, whilst roughly a fifth of people leaving Twitter go on to revisit other amicable network".

The headlines comes days after Facebook voiced more than 30 million people in the UK had sealed up as members.
